The voice that replied was my own, but not really
It was just different, like everything else in this space
It was different but not too different,
It was safe and familiar
It was me, but wise
Unburdened, unencumbered
You have… society… human beings
Society has determined this line… but this line doesn’t truly exist
It’s the illusion of a blockade that not many can resist
A boundary placed to diminish the hunger
The drive of the greats who seek to create wonders
You see, in order to do something truly exceptional and unique
One must be a little bit crazy and willing to leap from that peak
Step off from the precipice and fall, but not fail
For what if during the fall, you fly?
Conquer those seas… what if you sail?
What if you weather that storm and come out the other side?
You’ll be reshaped, reformed, reborn
No longer fearful of this thing called life
This race, this marathon, this journey
This odyssey, this trek, this ride
There is no delineation that determines who is insane or who is persistent
The two are actually parallel lines
Two paths that are forever adjacent, never touching…
Except for when they converge
See, when you really think about it, it’s only crazy when it doesn’t work
It’s only crazy when you give up
Or give in to that urge
Men weren’t supposed to conquer the skies… until they did
Men weren’t meant to navigate the oceans… until they did
Women weren’t meant to vote… until they did
The president was never going to be black—wait that did happen also
My mission is impossible, but it’s something I’m determined to accomplish
If you’re reading this, and you’ve come this far
I won’t quit today… I promise
